Dea Kentchadze, BA, Intern

Dea earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Illinois Wesleyan University and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Over the years, Dea has worked with children and adolescents in various settings as a teacher and a coach, helping them master skills in different areas of need and interest. Moreover, she trained in ABA psychology and has worked extensively with children on the autism spectrum. Aiding individuals in managing their stress and anxiety by teaching them fundamental life and organizational skills, in personal and educational aspects of their lives. Dea also worked closely with each client’s parents to better understand and formulate the overall goals for the client’s success.

 

Dea values the importance of guiding individuals through challenging aspects of their life. Her desire is to help people of different backgrounds and lifestyles in dealing with anxiety, stress, self-esteem struggles, peer-to-peer relationships, and life transitions. She does so by utilizing a holistic approach through the Biopsychosocial-Cultural-Spiritual Model. Dea believes that maintaining a supportive, structured, welcoming environment for the client is essential to helping them achieve their goals. She is often described as carrying, empathetic, and dedicated by her clients and colleagues.
