Elizabeth Barton (Lizzy), BA, Graduate Intern

Lizzy has experience working with children and adolescents in psychiatric and behavioral health settings, where she has supported individuals with a variety of emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs. She enjoys working with clients across the lifespan and has a special interest in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Lizzy is committed to helping clients recognize their strengths, build confidence, develop healthy coping skills, and work toward meaningful growth.

Lizzy is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at The Chicago School. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Social Work from the University of Iowa. As she continues her clinical training, Lizzy is especially interested in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and person-centered approaches, tailoring her work to each client’s individual needs and goals.

Lizzy is passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. She believes every person deserves to feel heard and understood and values building genuine, collaborative relationships with her clients.

Outside of her clinical training, Lizzy enjoys traveling, staying active, coloring, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
