Jessica (Jess) Mata – MA, LPC

Jessica (Jess) is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. Jess has completed additional clinical training in the School Anxiety/School Refusal Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Amita Behavioral Health Hospital. This specialized training has equipped her with in-depth skills and knowledge to address complex issues related to school anxiety and refusal, enhancing her ability to support adolescents and their families effectively.

Jess’s experience with adolescents, parents, and adult clients fuels her dedication to addressing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, family and peer conflicts, life transitions, and other stressors.

In her clinical practice, Jess provides individual, family and group therapy. As a bilingual Spanish-speaking clinician, she effectively supports clients and families in overcoming language barriers and accessing the mental health care they need.

Jess utilizes a range of treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and a strength-based approach. Her goal is to enhance emotional regulation, interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, and self-awareness.

Jess understands that starting or returning to therapy can be a vulnerable process. With her non-judgmental and multicultural approach, she empowers clients to take charge of their emotional and life well-being. Her aim is to equip clients with a personalized toolkit of strength-based skills, fostering their autonomy and supporting them through life’s challenges and transitions
