Samantha Olson is an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Domestic Violence Professional (CDVP). Samantha received her master’s degree in Social Work with a specialization in forensics, and her bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology, both from Aurora University. Samantha has developed her clinical skillset through a variety of different experiences in school, shelter, and research settings, focusing primarily on teens and adults through providing evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy to diverse groups. Prior to joining the Center for Emotional Wellness team, she served as Lead Children’s Advocate with Wings Program, Inc. providing counseling, advocacy, and case management services to children and families experiencing domestic violence.
Samantha is an empathetic and warm clinician who strives for a collaborative and empowering approach when working with individuals to achieve greater well-being. Specializing in trauma, anxiety, depression, LGBTQIA+, and domestic violence, Samantha utilizes her training and experience in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Play Therapy, and Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to support each client’s individual needs. With a focus on strengths-based and person-centered approaches, Samantha is dedicated to providing a safe space for individuals to be who they are.
In her free time, Samantha enjoys reading, going for walks, and spending time with her family, friends, and cats.
